Ned’s Custom Woodies
Ned is an Otago based surfer who has a shaping passion with a difference. Mine is a very small scale operation. I design surfboards on my PC using AKU Shaper, a commonly used surfboard shaping software, and build them in a corner of my garage at home just big enough for the purpose. The design of each board is customized to the rider (so far mostly me), to reflect an individual’s size, shape, ability and surfing style. Each board is handcrafted, from as many as 80 individual pieces of timber, cut, laminated and shaped to create a unique surfboard. They are then glassed by Dunedin surfboard shaper/builder Dave Wild. Home is just south of Brighton, Dunedin, heading towards Taieri Mouth. There are many surf breaks from Ocean View to Taieri
Mouth, not to mention all the great spots north up the coast to Kakanui.www.nedswoodies.co.nz/What%27s%20it%20all%20about.htm
