The application for resource consent has been placed on hold at the request of the applicant (Napier City Council) and is with their lawyers.

We do not believe it is in the interests of the wider Hawkes Bay community for this activity to be approved on a non notified basis. Should Napier City re-submit the application requesting non-notification of their plan we anticipate there will be a public outcry from the not insignificant Hawkes bay surfing community.

Notification of the application will allow submissions to be made by the general public and other interested groups who can voice their concerns formally to the council under the notification provision.
